PLANNING-BLOG POST41&42-Pitch feedback-from teacher and peers+Evaluation
While presenting our pitch for the opening sequence
of the movie Ever Line, our peers and teacher were
asked to give us feedback with what was good about
our ideas and what needs more work.
What went well
- After looking at the written feedback, we noticed that all of our classmates tended to like the title of our movie (Ever Line), they said that it was solid and a smart play on words.
- According to our peers our institution ideas were well thought out and detailed
What would have made the pitch better
- More distributed speech
- More organisation(should have put everything on one presentation, videos, and sub prezi's)
How did we improve overall due to the feedback
- Instead of including the knife, we decided to wash it instead and not to make it as obvious
- We made the stalker call her to add suspense
Rough pitch mark:
7.9
This is our recorded feedback:

The Pitch 14 - Technology Skills Audit
Camera- We used cameras to record all of our footage for our preliminary project and our title sequence remake. It also had many other functions such as zoom in and zoom out. It helped us develop our project by allowing us to record high quality footage for each of our projects.
Premier pro- we used this software to edit all of our clips which we recorded with the camera for our preliminary project and the title sequence remake. This software also allowed us to add MP3 to the clips to make music play in the background. This help us develop our project by allowing us to make our projects look as professional as possible.
Camtasia- This software allowed me to upload a title sequence to it and analyse its features by adding annotations to it. This allowed me to understand why some title sequences were successful and it helped me make my own title sequence using some of the techniques found in the successful title sequences. This helped develop our project by allowing us to find out what makes a title sequence interesting and add those features to our own one.
THE PITCH - 14) Technology Skills Audit
Technology Skills
Since the beginning our the Media course we have used different variations of hardware and software, many of which we hadn't used before. All of this software has helped me to film and edit my work.
We were introduced to Blogger in the first few lessons. We were told that this software is important as this is where our we will upload all of coursework. It has been hard to make the blogs creative and unique but I feel like I am improving slowly and am starting to enjoy blogging more.
Premier Pro is the software that we use to edit our films. We have used it while editing our Preliminary and Re-make tasks. Its a timeline-based video editing software. We used it to put all of our clips together seamlessly. We also use it to add sound and add the slow motion effect. At first it was quite hard to get used to but now I am very confident with this software.
We had to use Camtasia for blog post 16 where we had to create a video analysing the use of sound in a chosen film opening. This allowed to add annotation to the opening of the film "Back to the Future". This software helped me in understanding the importance of sound
After Effects allowed us to add titles to our film. We used this software while in the editing process of our Breakfast Club remake. After effects also allows you to add visual effects and motion graphics which we will probably using in our film opening. This software was useful to us when we needed to add titles.
During the media course we have been taught how to use this Camera. We have been taught how to record, zoom, insert and eject the memory cards and how to set up a tripod. This piece of software is important as this is how we record out film openings.
Blog Post 47-Blogging Health Check 2-feedback

For the blogging of Part2 of the coursework I can see that my planning is at a good standard and we have a bunch of creative ideas, I agree with my current grade which is a B, however to improve it, I need to visualise my idea by
- Uploading REAL images of props that we intend to use, the locations that we are planning to use, costumes and make up
- I should give examples of similar movies with similar story lines to compare them with our idea, so that the reader can see how our movie/opening sequence will be unique to the others
The Pitch task 14-Technology skills audit
Technology Skills audit
Since I've started the AS Media, I was introduced to many new hardwares and softwares that I didn't know how to use before or didn't even know at all. I believe that they've helped me to develop my ICT skills, which contributes to how well I have been completing my tasks in my media classes.
Some of the programs/technology include:
Blogger-
This was the first software that was introduced in my media classes. At first I thought that it would be a challenge having to upload all of my coursework onto a blog, but now I enjoy being creative and using different types of media and ways to present my ideas. I find it useful as it's really easy to operate and I can easily review/edit old work in order to track my progress and see what needs to be improved.
This is a software used to record onscreen activity, audio and web cam video and narrate existing PowerPoint presentations. Through Camtasia, you can record, edit, produce and share course content. It has allowed me to annotate the opening sequence of "The Stepfather" and analyse the different types of sounds used, which therefore helped me to develop my understanding of the importance of sound, which will have a positive impact on my project.

Premiere Pro-
Adobe Premiere Pro is a timeline-based video editing software application. It's part of the Adobe Creative Cloud, which includes video editing, graphic design, and web development programs. It has allowed me to create and edit videos by joining all of the shots together into one whole, it has also been very useful for removing unwanted audio and cutting scenes.
After effects-
Adobe After Effects is a digital visual effects, motion graphics, and compositing application developed by Adobe Systems and used in the post-production process of filmmaking and television production. Among other things, After Effects can be used for keying, tracking, rotoscoping, compositing and animation. It has been useful to me when creating the title credits for the remake of "The Breakfast Club".
Camera
This is one of the most useful hardwares in AS Media, as almost everything involves the use of it. In the course, I've learned how to set it up, insert and eject the memory cards, zooming in and out, using flash, also setting up the tripod.

PlANNING-BP33-Designing Our Blog-Abdul
Our Group is making a thriller movie with a sub-genre of adventure. Our background is a dark, broken wall which connotes that the movie is a ominous and suspenseful production. We also incorporated a person with hoody, which is going to be one of our main actors costumes due to the character being a psychopath. We also wanted to denote this through the dark background and the creepy font.

30 - Mise-En-Scene - Brief
Brief
- Film Idea - A boy stalks a girl from his college. (obsessive. Has pictures on his wall of her) They cross paths in college everyday eventually become friends, but is all as it seems?
- Key Props - A knife, pictures of the girl, (on boys bedroom wall) mobile phone and a bag.
- Locations - The college and a flat or house.
- Settings - The canteen, the hallway, a bedroom, a bathroom, kitchen and an elevator
- Costume - Casual everyday wear. The boy would be in darker colours and the girl in lighter colours.
- Lighting - Natural and dull lighting. Dull lighting in boys room.
30 - Mise-En-Scene - Location
Planning Mise-en-scene Ideas
Locations and Settings
Idea 1
City and Islington Sixth Form College. It is located in Angel Islington. You will see this location near the beginning and then throughout the title sequence as this is where it is set. We decided to use the college as it appeals to our target audience and we are able to film here easily.
Idea 2
My Grandma's house which is located in Gipsy Hill. You may also see this near the beginning as a location where the girl is getting ready before she leaves for college. We might not use this location as its far from the college
13-Analyse 3 title sequences
Zombieland
Macro Analysis:
The title sequence for Zombieland gives the viewer a hint of the storyline, it does this by using key themes such as zombies, chaos and destruction. From the title sequence i can guess that there aren't many survivors where the movie is set because there are more zombies than humans and the movie is called "Zombieland". I can also tell that the plot is linked to the theme of " No one can be trusted" because in the title sequence a mother abandons her daughter because she becomes a zombie. The title sequence dosent really introduce characters however the person speaking over the title sequence is the main character.
Micro Analysis:
The title sequence uses weird camera angles because they want to make the viewer think that someone dropped their camera whilst being chased by a zombie in some scenes. the use a lot of wide shots and close ups. and they use alot of fast movements to show how fast people flee in "zombieland". The editing is quite interesting because they make the picture fizz out sometimes and they even use an effect which makes it seem like the camera broke. They even edit the earth to make it looks like its been destroyed and if they put one of their survival rules on the screen they'll make it look like the word e.g. Cardio, they made this world pulsate like a heart beat. The sound is synchronous because the music sound creepy/chaotic.Lastly the scene compliments the movies genre because it looks like it was just destroyed.
Order Of The Credits:
Ident

Producer
Main actors

casting by
Captain America:The Winter Soldier
Macro Analysis:
The title sequence gives a sense of the storyline and plot because they show the main characters silhouette and the badge of the main organisation/ the enemy organisation. One of the key themes is America and i think this because there is a constant showing of the 3 stripes on the american flag. Things linked to the movie also give away the plot of the movie e.g.fighter jets and the main character, Captain America, in action in an animated format. We also get the feeling that there are two main social groups because if they person presented is a hero they'll be in black and white whilst the villain is in red and black.
Micro Analysis:
They edited the title sequence to make it seem as though the characters were on a battlefield or involved in the army. They also used editing to make everything seem as though it was a shadow, they probably done this because the movie is a thriller/action and they wanted to add suspense. They sound is synchronous because it matches the mood of the movie and there is a sound motif as it tells you the characters motive which is complete justice.
Order Of The Credits:
Director
Screenplay
Producers
director of photography
editors
music
casting
Main actors
Ident
Movie name
22 Jump Street:
Macro Analysis:
The title sequence gives a strong hint to the storyline because the title sequence gives ideas for sequels for the movie and all the sequels relate to 2 characters going to different schools undercover. The key theme of the movie is spy/police/agents, this wasn't difficult to guess because the title sequence shows a lot of criminals shooting at cops in disguise. The plot was 2 people go to a school as undercover cops and these were the two main characters.
Micro Analysis:
They use a lot of long shots and close ups so the viewer can see how the main characters transform in to their different identities depending on which school they go to. The editing is also used to enhance the enviroment of the country the characters go to e.g. if they are in canada they'll edit snow into the scene. The sound is synchronous because the song that goes with the title sequence is made specifically for the movie.

Blog Post 8
Analysing my favourite movie:
I like the movie Captain America:The Winter Soldier. They use a stylized title sequence as the title sequence has a lot of different transitions, shapes ans designs but it doesn't go off of the topic/genre of the movie. It shows things which are related to the movie e.g. the badges of the organisations in the movie and the aspect of action and guns.
Order of the credits:

The credits were no longer than 3 minutes because if they were longer than that it would give too much of the movie away to the viewer and they may lose interest. The font style and size changed varied due to the importance of each person presented e.g. director and movie name would have a fancy font and big font size. However less important things would have lesser font styles and sizes e.g. Camera guy and Sound assistant.

The Pitch-14 Technology audit
Technology Audit
There are multiple different types of software and hardware that I used during my time in As Media. All of them have helped me to edit, record and produce my media projects which I thoroughly enjoy.
Blogger-
Blogger is the very software that I am using to upload this very blog. At first it did seem like a challenge to post a blog but over time I got used to the format and now it is much easier to upload a blog. Using Blogger is very essential In my coursework and it has helped me to track my history from when I began and also to track my progress which is a reminder to show me how far I have developed from when I started.
Camatasia-
Camtasia is the software used to take videos and to annotate over them. It has allowed me to annotate the opening of the movie 'Hot Fuzz' and analyse the different types of sounds (e.g. diegetic, Non diegetic sound). This software has helped me to analyse the sound of different videos and helped me to understand the importance of sound.
Premier Pro-
Premier Pro is the software used when trying to put all of your clips together and make it look seamless. This editing software has allowed me to make our remake look better than expected. It has done this by allowing me to use video transition such as dip to black and cross dissolve which merges our scenes together. It has developed my project by allowing me to use effects and animation to put my remake together and make it look amazing. It was especially useful when allowing me to use the gaussian blur which allowed me to blur the background and make it look realistic and similar to 'Collateral'
After Effects-
This software has helped me to input the titles on our remake of 'Collateral'. After Affects is a very useful software and it helps grately on adding the credits and titles onto the video. It is very useful when using title animations such as the one in the movie, 'Seven' and thus adding great depth into your oepning title sequence making it all come together.
Camera-
The camera is one of the most useful pieces of hardware if not the most useful. I have learned how to insert and eject the memory cards, how to play back clips, how to zoom in and also how to open and close the lens cap. This paired with the hard drive used to store our crucial information and the tripod to help keep our shots still all helped in the development of my projects.

THE PITCH - 13) Risk Assessment-Abdul
RISK ASSESMENT
We as a group need to identify the risks of recording the piece befoe we film. There are multiple accident that could happen while we are filming.
Location:
Abdul's House
Hazard:
Cars as it is near a driveway
How to prevent it:
Be vigilant of any incoming cars and to make sure to safely move out of the way with no damage to the equipment
Location:
Eyvelin's House
Hazard:
Untidy room
How to prevent it:
Clean up before recording so that no one trips up and the equipment remains safe.
Location:
Angel Station
Hazard:
Theft-People
How to prevent:
Always have at least 2 to 3 people with the equipment as safetty is in number.
Location:
College
Hazard:
Falling equipment and accidents as there are a large number of people
How to prevent:
Film in off peak hours. Don't film at lunch or after College as you wouldnt' have the space to do that.
THE PITCH - 9) Sound design- Abdul
Sound Design-
Sound is one of the most important pieces in a production which can ultimately make or break your film. The soundscape we are going to make is a combination of the concepts between 4 scores which are used in movies such as Inception, Devil (2010) and Shutter Island. Another Non-diegetic sounds were going to use is Foley Sound. The types of foley sound were going to use are the Ziping of a bag, The closing of an elevator and the footsteps of a Person walking on the concrete pavement.
We are going to use the foley sound to suspend the disbelief of the audience . The amplified sound will make them feel like their actually there. We are going to record this via a Dictaphone.
Score 1: Shutter Island Symphony Soundtrack
We are using this because of the tension and the upbeat music and we intend to use it at the begining.
Score 2: Devil Soundtrack
We are going to use the Devil Sound track when the boy is following the girl as it get louder it denotes to the audience that he is getting closer.
Score 3:Inception Mind Heist
We are going to use this because of the intensity and we intend to use it when the girl opens her eyes in the elevator.
Score 4:Inception Time
This Score is hgoing to be used throughout as it brings a sense of curiousity. We are going to use it through out and lower it when other soundtracks are there. Ultimately it is the background music of the opening.
THE PITCH - 8) Mise-en-scene - Props, costumes, make up ect-Bodunrin
Props
The props we are going to use in our title sequence are:
Posters- we are going to use posters because one of the main characters has a collection of photos of the girl he is stalking in his room. This will help enhance the stalker stereotype.
Knife- We are going to get a shot of Jefferson cleaning a knife so the audience know he is a psychopath, this will make the audience wonder what will happen in the movie.
Hat- We are going to use a hat so the stalker can hide behind it when the victim turns around, we saw this idea in many different movies so this is a basic stalker stereotype.
Costumes
We created a costume for the stalker character to make him look as much as a stereotypical stalker as possible. This costume will involve a lot of dark colours, a hat to hide his face and shades so no one can see his eyes.
And for the female character she'll be wearing normal clothes so the audience believe she is a normal, innocent person.
Mise en scene
THE PITCH - 7) Mise-en-scene - Location & Setting- By Eyvelin
Mise-en-scene-Location&Setting
We will use location 1 for
- Establishing the settings
- Main characters cross paths
- Main event occurs in one of the settings
- Creating a teen environment/ school atmosphere, students, classrooms etc in order for our target audience to relate
- A shot of both characters as they walk into the building will be included
![]() |
| Setting1-College hallway |
Where our main characters cross paths
Jefferson bumps into Amy, who drops her books
![]() |
| Setting2-The elevator |
Where the main event occurs
We will include a shot of the actress getting inside the elevator
and her stalker, Jefferson after her
The sequence will end as the doors close leaving the audience in shock
We will use location 2
to film Jefferson in his room
and him walking out of the buliding
![]() |
| Location3-Amy Line's house |
We will use location 3 to film Amy Line in her house and her walking out of the room.
![]() |
| Setting4-Amy's room This will also be included at the beginning of the sequence, we are planning to have shots of Amy getting ready while Jefferson is getting ready and cleaning his knife |
