Technology Audit
There are multiple different types of software and hardware that I used during my time in As Media. All of them have helped me to edit, record and produce my media projects which I thoroughly enjoy.
Blogger-
Blogger is the very software that I am using to upload this very blog. At first it did seem like a challenge to post a blog but over time I got used to the format and now it is much easier to upload a blog. Using Blogger is very essential In my coursework and it has helped me to track my history from when I began and also to track my progress which is a reminder to show me how far I have developed from when I started.
Camatasia-
Camtasia is the software used to take videos and to annotate over them. It has allowed me to annotate the opening of the movie 'Hot Fuzz' and analyse the different types of sounds (e.g. diegetic, Non diegetic sound). This software has helped me to analyse the sound of different videos and helped me to understand the importance of sound.
Premier Pro-
Premier Pro is the software used when trying to put all of your clips together and make it look seamless. This editing software has allowed me to make our remake look better than expected. It has done this by allowing me to use video transition such as dip to black and cross dissolve which merges our scenes together. It has developed my project by allowing me to use effects and animation to put my remake together and make it look amazing. It was especially useful when allowing me to use the gaussian blur which allowed me to blur the background and make it look realistic and similar to 'Collateral'
After Effects-
This software has helped me to input the titles on our remake of 'Collateral'. After Affects is a very useful software and it helps grately on adding the credits and titles onto the video. It is very useful when using title animations such as the one in the movie, 'Seven' and thus adding great depth into your oepning title sequence making it all come together.
Camera-
The camera is one of the most useful pieces of hardware if not the most useful. I have learned how to insert and eject the memory cards, how to play back clips, how to zoom in and also how to open and close the lens cap. This paired with the hard drive used to store our crucial information and the tripod to help keep our shots still all helped in the development of my projects.
