13-Analyse 3 title sequences

Zombieland
Macro Analysis:
The title sequence for Zombieland gives the viewer a hint of the storyline, it does this by using key themes such as zombies, chaos and destruction. From the title sequence i can guess that there aren't many survivors where the movie is set because there are more zombies than humans and the movie is called "Zombieland". I can also tell that the plot is linked to the theme of " No one can be trusted" because in the title sequence a mother abandons her daughter because she becomes a zombie. The title sequence dosent really introduce characters however the person speaking over the title sequence is the main character.

Micro Analysis:
The title sequence uses weird camera angles because they want to make the viewer think that someone dropped their camera whilst being chased by a zombie in some scenes. the use a lot of wide shots and close ups. and they use alot of fast movements to show how fast people flee in "zombieland". The editing is quite interesting because they make the picture fizz out sometimes and they even use an effect which makes it seem like the camera broke. They even edit the earth to make it looks like its been destroyed and if they put one of their survival rules on the screen they'll make it look like the word e.g. Cardio, they made this world pulsate like a heart beat. The sound is synchronous because the music sound creepy/chaotic.Lastly the scene compliments the movies genre because it looks like it was just destroyed.

Captain America:The Winter Soldier

Macro Analysis:
The title sequence gives a sense of the storyline and plot because they show the main characters silhouette and the badge of the main organisation/ the enemy organisation. One of the key themes is America and i think this because there is a constant showing of the 3 stripes on the american flag. Things linked to the movie also give away the plot of the movie e.g.fighter jets and the main character, Captain America, in action in an animated format. We also get the feeling that there are two main social groups because if they person presented is a hero they'll be in black and white whilst the villain is in red and black.

Micro Analysis:
They edited the title sequence to make it seem as though the characters were on a battlefield or involved in the army. They also used editing to make everything seem as though it was a shadow, they probably done this because the movie is a thriller/action and they wanted to add suspense. They sound is synchronous because it matches the mood of the movie and there is a sound motif as it tells you the characters motive which is complete justice.

22 Jump Street:
Macro Analysis:
The title sequence gives a strong hint to the storyline because the title sequence gives ideas for sequels for the movie and all the sequels relate to 2 characters going to different schools undercover. The key theme of the movie is spy/police/agents, this wasn't difficult to guess because the title sequence shows a lot of criminals shooting at cops in disguise. The plot was 2 people go to a school as undercover cops and these were the two main characters.

Micro Analysis:
They use a lot of long shots and close ups so the viewer can see how the main characters transform in to their different identities depending on which school they go to. The editing is also used to enhance the enviroment of the country the characters go to e.g. if they are in canada they'll edit snow into the scene. The sound is synchronous because the song that goes with the title sequence is made specifically for the movie.
