13 - Analyse 3 title sequences

Analysis of title sequences

1. Sherlock Holmes

Micro analysis - The Sherlock Holmes title sequence is set in old London and we can tell this because of the costumes that the actors are wearing and also the scenery shown. The moving images in this sequence move at a fast speed and are party animated. The credits shown are in a handwriting font which looks like a vintage letter also giving us an idea of the time era. There is a song playing over the moving images with Foley sound.

Macro Analysis - From the title sequence we know that the plot is about a man and his assistant who fight the bad guys, a classic plot. There is no particular or that the story line is introduced, it seems to just be different clips from the film. 2 of the main characters are introduced; Sherlock Holmes (introduced in the opening scene of the title sequence) and his assistant.
