Blog post 12-Target Audience research

Audience Profiles for Thriller Films

  Target audience is the particular group of people at which the film is aimed.
For the research of target audience profiles, I've chosen "Inception", "The Sixth Sense" and "Heat" as they are al thriller films, therefore I will be able to use the information when working on my title sequence. 


Results for "Inception":
  
After conducting a research on people who like this film, I found out that the majority of them are male in their 18-24's, located in London.
Their hobbies include playing video games and musical instruments. They are interested in science and are most likely to have cats as pets. 
 They tend to be clever, polite and geeky, however, they lack self confidence and they are lazy, which is the reason online shopping makes their life easier as some said.
 Most of them are customers of google play, Lenovo, Netlfix and shop at Sainsbury's. Their clothing brand preferences are often H&M and Banana Republic. 
 The bank that they use is Nationwide and they drive a Range Rover.
Monthly spare is £125-£499.
Favourite films are Iron Man 3, Avatar, The Matrix, The Bourne Supremacy. Therefore their favourite genres are action, sic-fi, thriller and fantasy. 

Results for "The Sixth Sense": 

After looking at samples of people who like this movie, I found out that the majority of them are female in their 40-54's, located in Midlands.
Some of their hobbies and interests are board games, clubbing, boxing. They enjoy watching movies and TV and are most likely to have dogs as pets.
 They tend to be trustworthy, straightforward, however they are often stubborn and moody. Some  say that people get far too easily offended. 
They are customers of Sky, Tom Tom, Just Eat and Sony and shop at Morrisons. Their preferred clothing brands are Tesco and Ann Harvey.
They use the services of Lloyds Bank and drive a Daihatsu. 
 Monthly spare is £125-£499.
Favourite films are The silence of the Lambs, Shaun of the Dead, Indiana Jones and E.T. Extra Terrestrial. Therefore their favourite genres are Thriller and Drama. 

Results for "Heat":

I also researched the target audience of Heat and found out the majority are male in their 40-54's and are located in the North West. Their hobbies include watching movies and TV, going to the cinema and listening to music. They like to practice boxing and are most likely to have cats as pets.
They are usually considerate, clear analytical but they could also be dull, impatient and difficult. 
Customers of Lloyds Bank, Levi's and Iceland. 
Monthly spare is over £1000.
Favourite films include Leon, Collateral, Falling down, Payback and The Godfather II. 
Therefore it is assumed that his favourite genres are action, thriller, crime and drama.
