PRELIM TASK - Evaluation

I developed many skills over our Preliminary task. For example filming different types of shots, editing clips together and adding music.
During the planning of our Prelim Task, I found that I worked particularly well on the script for our film. I took into consideration the roles that my team members were going to play and the language that each character would use. I found that I struggled with the storyboard as I am not too great at drawing and found it hard to think about each shot individually and present it on paper so one of my team members took care of that part.

I was quite nervous when it came down to filming our Prelim as I had never film using professional equipment but I got the hang of it rather quickly and I found out that I as quite good at it. I helped set up the different shots well. was also good at planning how many of the same scene we would need to film and the angles that we would need to shoot but I didn’t
actually film some of these shots as well as I could of.

While editing I learnt how to add and remove music, place shots together, making scenes in slow motion and many more skills. Overall I think that we edited our Prelim very well as a team considering that it was our first time.

Overall I believe that our Preliminary Task was successful. We added match cuts and applied the 180 degree rule. However we didn't get to add any shot reverse shots due to a timing issue but will make sure to include them in our next task. If we had the chance to re shoot our Preliminary Task I would make sure that both the actors are in the shot and try and film in a place with good lighting as where we filmed was quite dark.
This task helped us to find new strengths and weaknesses as individuals and as a group and we can apply these to our next task.
