Macro and Micro analysis of 3 title sequences
1.Seven
Micro Analysis
Seven's opening mainly consists of extreme close ups, throughout the sequence there were cuts, where the screen turned black and production credits were shown.
As long as titles over moving images, there were also titles on still images, which moved quickly.
Some of the angles used were birds eye, eye level and high angle.
There was a smooth transition from shot to shot. The typography looked as if it was handwritten by the main character.
It is set in a dark room, perhaps the criminal's room. The props are sharp objects, razor blade and a needle. Also a notebook, which the actor was filling in throughout the sequence. They were sewing paper and books. Disturbing images were shown as well as banknotes.
Macro Analysis
The key plot idea that was trying to be introduced to the viewer is that the character in this film is a serial killer, who is planning a murder/crime.
However, the events happening seem to be out of order as the narrative appears to be non-linear.
The main character(murderer) is represented through the props- blades and cut
photos.
